Poised in Parody

Okay, this contest is for those of you who are up for a challenge...

You challenge is this: Pick any one of my (Shya) poems, and write a parody. (I would say pick any AP poem, but I'm not sure if you have to get someone's permission first if you were to write an offensive parody of their poem, so therefore just parody one of mine.) Your parody must be an obvious parody of that poem, enough so that I can read the parody and know which poem you chose to parody without having to look at your AN. =) That's all.

I'm looking for good poems... imagery, metaphor, word choice, style, tone, and message.

I'm looking for good parodies...
"A good parody is amusing, but it can also be revealing... by altering the angle of wisdome or widening the context or inviting us to take an ironic squint at the original poem, may expose its defects; but the parody of a good poem may make us more keenly aware of the virtues that survive parody." - Robert Penn Warren, Understanding Poetry

Rules:
1. You may reserve, but please do not forget to come back and finish.
2. Please state in your AN which poem you are parodying.
3. No bad words, no erotica; I'm only 13.
4. Please, do not go off on your own thing, make it a parody.

You may pick any one of my poems to parody, and may write whatever kind of parody you like; I will not be offended by anything unless you choose to directly insult the author and not the poem. Although it would be better if you did not pick a poem already chosen by someone else... I like variety.

I will add more points as more people enter... at least 800 points for gold is a promise, if you can do a good parody.

I have the right to close or delete this contest if I get only 1 entry... hopefully I get more than that.

Good luck... and have fun! Shya

What an excellent competition. For the first time in more than three years associated with Allpoetry, I encounter someone who sees that if it is not obvious from a parody what was the original, then the parody has clearly failed to make its point!

Yup... if you can't figure out what the original is, then the parody really isn't a parody, it's just another poem. You're a skilled poet, I hope you do enter!
