Your most personal & meaningful poem from ( 2008 )

I have been thinking, and thinking, about having a contest
that would be a little different than others. Being that
there are so many contests here daily, I doubt that this
will be much different than the others. But I'll give it a
shot anyway.

So here is what I came up with. This should be pretty easy
because it is all about prewrites.

I am asking that you go and find the one poem that you
wrote during this past year ( 2008 ) only!!! I will check
the dates. I want you to enter, what you think is your
most personal and meaningful poem. Nothing else, it has
to be PERSONAL AND MEANINGFUL !!!
I am looking for something that came from deep within
your soul. Something that will touch others.
That's it, I hope I am not asking for too much.

Rules:
1- If I think your poem does not pertain to what I am looking for
I will remove it.
2- I will DQ anyone who is rude to others
3- You may use any style of writing
4- There is no line limit
5- No reserving
6- I think that is it for now, if I think of anything else I will let you know.

Points will be added at the end of the contest.
I will also add a Silver, if I see fit
I will add a Bronze, if I see fit
HM, I'll think about that one.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on December 11, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 700, Silver: 500, Bronze: 300, Honorable mention: 6 people
  • Final notes:
Thank you all so much for entering my contest. When I say, that I had the hardest time judging this contest, believe me I truly did. All the poems touched me in one way or another. Some made me smile, some reminded me so much of my self and then there were those that made me cry, and cry, and cry. Some were the most heartbreaking poems I have ever read in my life. I can't believe that some people go through so much sorrow and hardship in their life. Reading your poem, made me feel your pain, your loss, and your happiness. I honestly wish I could have given out more gold, because there were nine poets who I believed deserved a gold.
I thank you for sharing with me your most personal and meaningful poetry. I wish every single one of you the very best for the up coming New Year. Many blessings to each one of you. Please have a wonderful New Year. May all your dreams come true.
