So I've been having a recurring dream of a blind girl sat before a mirror. She sits for a long time each night when I see her, just looking with empty eyes. She reaches forward and touches the glass, at which point I usually wake or lose the dream.
What do you think she sees? Does the reflection reach forward and touch her hand? Does it exist if she can't see it?
What do you feel when you see her?
Write a reflection (excuse the pun) on this situation from the perspective of the girl, the reflection, an observer or - if you're really ambitious - from the perspective of the mirror.
The whole thing just melts my mind at the moment.
.......................................
My dreams reflect the future,
in the daylight I can't see.
I seek an answer to the question:
"Is this person really me?"
~ My mum's 'reflection' on my dream
.......................................
Looking forward to your interpretations!

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on December 14, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 500, Silver: 250, Bronze: 100
- Final notes: I'm really pleased with the fantastic poems generated by a dream which - at the time - I thought would only speak to me. A broad range of interpretations and reflections on the image exploring so many angles I hadn't considered. Thank you and well done to all you poets and your reflections! It's amazing what we can see, in reality, reflection and in our dreams.
