I love portrait poetry - things along the lines of:
refill this
i.
southwest sauce
heavy between six-inch sub
like a knowledge craving
nosed between lists;
151 Pokémon pen-blazed
regardless of margins and
50 American states we don't live in
trudge double-mouthed
to paper
- we have different ideas of fun
than others
I give it a compound word,
call it bitchass.
ii.
our thoughts are Siamese twins;
conjoined, yet not
people stare at birdcage,
how silver joins together
like combed teeth
with only little gaps
to pull hair and thought through,
visible tooth infections with
less apparent wisdom,
but both are present
we continue to sit in Subway,
lounging dilettantes
propped with fountain drinks
averting time when I refill them
- plastic full once more.
iii.
we are dismissive of Poe,
pro-life, McCain and
centerpieces on lazy Susans
I am freakishly fluent in Pig Latin
and for some reason,
you understand math
but we both saw it, though
your emeralds dug it first -
car-parked grey seagull
contemplating a moment
and I have contemplated
its sighted existence
for days
- this won't be the last time
I do.
iv.
there is much to stare at
but if anyone could
take glass window perspectives and
find that inner liquid soul
from a dead view,
I'd point an index finger
towards your deviance.

I want you to write something along these lines about a girl/woman that you know.
It must be original and unique.
have fun!

EDIT: Pre-writes are now allowed - but if you enter a pre-write that I don't think really fits the contest then you will be disqualified without warning.

I'm not sure if you used the phrase "portrait poetry"...
