That’s right—mish-mash, smorgasbord, whatever—just make it super cool.
Fresh writes and only prewrites that have not won gold or silver (notice: I said “not won gold or silver”).
Rhymed or free verse, but no haiku or other strict and restricted forms.
Usual AP rules apply, as well as the following:
Mark appropriately, adult if necessary.
Any prewrites that have won better than bronze will not be considered.
No porn (fuggerabarit. Bada-bing, disqualified cockroach).
No cRAp like tHIs or overuse of ellipsis…. or “i” for “I” (you’re not E E Cummings)
Use good grammar, punctuation when necessary.
No word-count limit, but no novellas.
Reservations allowed, but poem must be finished 24 hours before contest closes.
Write something cool, fool, but no haiku, boo, or any other strict form, Norm.
What in the name of Clint Eastwood’s ass are you waiting for?
There are no prompts, so go write that masterpiece now.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on November 30, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 500, Silver: 250, Bronze: 125, Honorable mention: 5 people
- Final notes: WOW. This thing filled up fast, within hours, and with mostly prewrites. I’d like to say that all entries deserve trophies; alas, I went the max on those and that’s the best I can do.
Judging wasn’t easy, especially because some of the entries were in pending contests. A word of encouragement to the runners up: keep on writing. Your writes were great, but choices had to be made. Congratulations to the winners.

Thankyou very much indeed Vito for the Honourable Mention, I love getting the green goblet! Congratulations to the golden globe, the bronze bomber and the shiny silver and thankyou for the opportunity to enter a prewrite and be able to take a poem out of the airing cupboard lol. Another cool thing about being Clint is surely having had the opportunity to work with Clyde!
