A sonnet please,

Hi All,

As you full well know, my poetry is somewhat cliche'd,
and yet, I need to have a modern trend to go by, so teach me.

Your sonnet can be of any genre, but your first line,

must have the quote submitted in it. So you can give me

another 13 beautiful lines:

The first line should read:

'You should have seen the world before it died'

I want some ideas for an epitaph.

From all my efforts at trying to receive many poems from contests,
I'm sure this will prove more popular than those I have done previously,

comments all, owing to my somehow verse of discord -  due to dyslexia.

If your sonnet does not read with this first line, it will be dsq.

(In your notes please
and you should quote that dsq bit in your author notes.

Good luck everyone,
From the less popular William.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on November 30, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 2 people
  • Final notes:
Well, that was a tough one and I have to say, it was between, in my estimation, between gold and silver. How one decides from two comparitive good sonnets, then I guess it came down to feel from what the writer was trying to get through. other than than, the next in line were quite easy to place, best wishes, and thank you very much for giving me some problems judging. Best wishes and take care. Sir William
