I don't know what that pic is but am guessing it is more likely cooling lava, maybe it is snow, I don't know, but doesn't look it to me.
I like the theme though.

Says they are Japanese Juhyo trees covered in snow and ice, frozen into these shapes by a cold Siberian wind...... I thought they were really pretty. The link has more pics and info on them.
