      scrap kits

are kits of background (papers) and elements, such as flowers, and other tubes. Used for virtual scrapbooking or tagging.

Yep, I have been designing them (get to be addicting, but a lot of work) and I have a winter one put together for this. I don't scrap with them too much, but I sure do tag!

I've been thinking about trying scrap kits myself Are they hard? I know they will most likely be addicting

I don't think they are too hard. It's a matter of putting together backgrounds, which I do in standard 500x500 pixels because a tag bigger than that just doesn't work too well. Then you need to make or photograph elements to work around it- ribbons, charms, accessories, etc.
Give it a try. I have both free ones and purchasable ones on the net now.

I figured out how to make tiles It's the elements that leave me a little clueless. I know some are made from scratch but some must be templates for so many makers to have the same sort of designs. I did make a bow..just the one And it looked nothing like what you get in normal scrap kits It was ok...just different. Could you point me in the right direction on how to start making the kits? Would be much appreciated

Most I have made from scratch. I make my own frames, and charms. For charms, I use preset shapes and alter them around, add glass and glitter, a chain or string and go from there. Some of the elements are simplet to make, some I use from photos I have scanned or cards. Others are royalty free images that I have tubed myself. I made a gingerbread kit, and used a gingerbread cookie cutter to make the charms. I have problems figuring out the bows. I have a digital scrap maker that is for commercial use and get my basic bows off of that and then change the color/texture accordingly. It's all a matter of playing around. But I like doing it.
I have also scanned some actual scrapbook elements to use, and that workds if it comes out clearly.

Thanks I will give it a go when I find some time. Would certainly make it easier as some of what I have in mind I can't find anywhere. Thanks so much for your help!
