i watched that movie for the first time in the spring & it was great. i hear there was a book before the movie - have you read the book?

i have yet to get my hands on the book - i've got a friend who's going to lend it to me when she's finished digging through it. i watched the movie in october. . .it has a way of grabbing on to you, doesnt it?
everybody says the book is far better than the movie.

It definitely does. I bet the book is amazing. But as far as movie based off a book goes, I think Into The Wild was well done. I guess I'd really have to read the book in order to compare though.

I hadn't heard of McCandless but what an intriguing story. Hopefully I can find the film in my area...or the book at the local library. Some people just hear different music from the rest of us. Should be an interesting contest.

Shh. . .it's Supertramp!
I've heard the book is far greater the movie. .lemme know if you get you hands on either!
People have different takes on Mr. McCandless. . hero vs. stupid kid. You'll have to see for yourself!

I have seen the movie twice, read the book once, and listened to Eddie Vedder's soundtrack for the movie about ten times. They are all quite stunning.
-
By far, my favorite book of the mid to late 1990's. The movie seems to have rekindled some interest.
-
