Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on November 20, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 750, Silver: 450, Bronze: 300, Honorable mention: 4 people
- Final notes: To say that I was immensely impressed with the entries in this contest is an understatement!! Truly, poets, each and every one of you can be so proud of your entry – I liked them all, and again realized why the traditional cinquain is one of my very favourite poetry forms. Wonderful also to see so many first-time cinquain writers here!
The winners are those that I thought adhered to the requirements of a traditional cinquain the best, gave me more than the obvious, applied poetic device with originality and flair, and alsol adhered to the other aspects as mentioned in my cinquain column.

simply stunning! your choice of accompanying photograph is beautiful. I daren't enter because one, I haven't yet learned the art of the cinquain in my now allmost 4 years on allpoetry, and in the graces of a mistress poet like yourself, Nicolette, I fear my art would pale in comparison to even your weakest ideal. Good look with your contest, may it shine with the stars.

Thank you
Just to be listed as a contestant in this crowd was an honor. The quality of work here is amazing.
I will never again be so frightened to attempt shorter forms for my canvass, and you are to thank for that.

Congrats to the winners, and I think that includes everyone who participated. -
This was an excellent contest filled with many wonderful talents. Thank you for hosting this contest and introducing me to such a lovely form of poetry.
