This is my Rent-inspired contest, because it was an option in one of my earlier ones that nobody used 
Write a poem based around one of the quotes below (all lines from songs in the Broadway version of RENT). You don't have to know the show to write about the lines!! But if you haven't seen it... go find the movie version, it's awesome.
ALL QUOTES are by Jonathon Larson, who is my idol.

Now for the RULES (I know, I know):
1) No TyPiNg LyK dIs. To be fair, I have never yet seen a poem here on AllPoetry written like that. But if I do get a poem entered in sticky caps, I'll send my rabid monkeys after you. Got it?
2) No dirty-pretty. It irritates me.
3) FOr now, I'm not allowing prewrites - I just don't think there'll be any!! If, by some chance you do have one, IM me.
4) No more than three entries per person.
5) Put the quote you used in your author's notes
6) My decision is FINAL. If I get IM-ed by anyone after it finishes going "I should have won," the rabid monkeys shall be sent after you also.

I love this musical! It made me cry. I had seen it a hundred times advertised, and finally saw it not too long before my daughter was born. This is so inspiring!
