Image is called Forgotten Cross, by Photographic Artist Roman Loranc
Hello, fine poets and readers alike. Here is my seventh offer in my black and white series. The image has been haunting me for months, just wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it.
Now I lay it before you and your marvelous talent, bring this image to life for me. Religion will obviously be written about, but NO PREACHING. NOTHING TURNS ME OFF faster. I want emotions that come from somewhere deep, unsettled, contemplative, necessary. Crosses are notonly used in Christian-based religion, but date further back, centuries. Druids, Eygptians, even the people at Knossos had a form of cross, found in their artwork and frescoes. They all derive different cosmic and quintissential meanings, and maybe for you, it means something else.
Keep it under fifty lines, if you can. Sometimes though, I know your muse needs as much room as she can get.

What a pity you exclude "previously written" work. If you change your mind, please let me know.

Vera, if it isn't too much trouble, I would be very interested in what you had in mind for this contest.

What I had in mind was the fact that I do not enter competitions that exclude "previously written"work - even if I have something appropriate that has NOT yet been exhibited on Allpoetry.
The nearest thing that I have that is available on Allpoetry is my translationm of Ivan Franko's "Christ and the Cross" - if you can find that on my page you are welcome to look at it... But I have to say I have no time to locate it for you - as I am attendiing a conference and have very little access to the internet.
