Welcome to my rounds contest. The number of rounds will depend on the number of entrants, but I hope the next round will have 25 talented poets.
Please note that there will be a variety of contest prompts to inspire you. I will not be asking for any collaborative poems in this contest.
Round One: pre-written poem
Round Two: picture prompt
Round Three: word bank
Round Four: quotation prompt
Round Five: form poem of your choice
Round Six: finale
For this round you may submit a pre-written poem that you feel exemplifies your writing style.
And now the rules:
1) Poems should be between 14 and 50 lines.
2) Spelling, grammar, and punctuation (if used) are very important so please proofread your poem.
3) Incomprehensibility is not a virtue and does not equal depth of thought.
4) Choose a plain color background. It is acceptable to use a border if the typing is against a single color backing. You may post a picture with your entry if you choose.
5) Please comment on at least two other poems in this contest.
Other than that, please treat each other as adults and use common sense.
Good luck and have fun.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on November 12, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100
- Final notes: Thank you for giving me the most diffiicult contest I have ever judged. The quality of the entries was outstanding. I decided to close the contest early because I received 25 poems by authors I wish to see advance to the next round. I read each poem several times. In any other contest each one would be worthy of a trophy. As I could only pick three, I chose the ones that spoke to me in a unique way in language or perception.
I have posted the next round of the contest. Here is the link:
