Just like the title says... this is a contest for November Acrostics.
That would be a poem that spells 'November' with the first letter of each line.
So....
Your poem should be 8 lines only, and describe the month of November. Rhyming not required, but it would be neat if you could pull it off. Basically put, 'what does November' mean to you?
Rules-
- No pictures used with the poem please. I want to see the image in your words, not with a picture.
- I need to be able to read the poem, so no funky background, or weird colour combinations.
- Don't use the word 'November' in your title... I don't want a gazillion with the same title. Be imaginative.
- No cutting or suicide (I'm surprised I'd even have to add that rule)
- No swearing.
- The acrostic "NOVEMBER" only, and 8 lines total.
- One entry per person, and absolutely no prewrites.
If you're not sure on Acrostics -
Nothing like the month
Oh, it's great
Very cruncy with leaves
Everyone get the point?
Maybe a couple more lines?
Best quit while I'm ahead
Eh, what's two more
Right... now I'm done.
Note how the first letter of each rather pathetic line, when read down, spells November. And please don't enter a poem as crappy as the example...
(I don't add entries to the finalist list until I judge, and I always comment on all entrants.)
Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on November 15, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 100, Bronze: 50, Honorable mention: 3 people
- Final notes: Wow. I mean... wow.
So many acrostics on November, and each one a gem unto itself. I had to edit in 3 HMs just now, since I felt bad placing three extra poems and not offer them anything.
Please accept my greatest thanks to all for entering and for creating something special based on the prompt given.
Kudos to all that took the time to actually write something new, and enter.
