Picture prompt

The challenge is to write a poem using the following pictures to spring board your muse. Any form or style but be careful with free verse, I hate chopped up prose with poor punctuation. I like that “Ah” factor, poetic device and a poem that shows that a bit of thought went into it.

First two paintings by: Rob Gonslaves
Third: author unknown.

Rules:
1. Label accordingly
2. No excessive profanity
3. No Sticky caps or chat speak
4. Plain backgrounds, boarders are permitted
5. No pornography, erotica penned with class is Ok
6  Reservations accepted but if you don’t return to
finish it the poetry police will be notified.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on November 16, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 1000, Silver: 700, Bronze: 300, Honorable mention: 4 people
  • Final notes:
Thank you all so very much for entering and making this contest a success. There were so many good entries that judging was very difficult. You all did a remarkable job in both conceptual visualization of the optical illusion pictures and poetic form. I finally had to chose the poems that spoke to me. In my book, you are all winners and I hope you had fun. I love you all!

I love the kind of top two pictures, they always amaze me. I know Escher does some stuff like that but I don't know if they're his.

I have a book of optical illusions and things and it has that Liar picture, it's really cool. It's also got those words that if you turn them upside down and backwords they say something else, like Life and Death, they're awesome. Good luck, I shall see if I am inspired
