Poetic Form: Septolet - Prompt - Native American Word Bank

Septolet
The Septolet is a poem consisting of seven lines containing fourteen words with a break in between the two parts.  Both parts deal with the same thought and create a picture.

Example #1:
Untitled

Lion
moving swiftly
across the plain,
most intent.

Antelope
grazing contently
on his meal.

Example #2:
Lion Woman

Prowling,
Lion woman
Seducer of men.

Trembling heart
Naked, heat
Rising from skin,
Ecstasy!

  • Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100
  • Final notes:
Excellent job all of you. I see the Native American culture seems to be very popular. I will have to do more contests with this theme. I do have a Cherokee Poetry class for anyone interested in taking it. I have it set up in a group for now. As the dean still has issues with it.

    Congratulations to the winners.

I encourage you to keep writing to read and comment.

    God Bless
    Tammy
