Alexander Pope (1688-1744) was an English poet and satirist. Many of his
quotations are familiar to the casual reader.
Please use one of Pope's famous quotations as your inspiration.
1) Hope springs eternal in the human breast.
2) To err is human, to forgive divine.
3) A little learning is a dangerous thing.
4) Fools rush in where angels fear to tread.
5) Blessed is he who expects nothing, for he shall never be disappointed.
6) It is with our judgments as with our watches; no two go just alike, yet each believes his own.
7) Some people will never learn anything because they understand everything too soon.
8) A man should never be ashamed to own he has been wrong, which is but saying, that he is wiser today than he was yesterday.
All members of The Paragon are encouraged to enter this contest. It is not necessary to have competed in the early contests. Each contest is judged separately, with the poets accumulating the most points competing in the End of Year Contest.

And now the rules:
1) Spelling, grammar, and punctuation (if used) are very important so please proofread your poem.
2) Incomprehensibility is not a virtue and does not equal depth of thought.
3) Choose a plain color background. It is acceptable to use a border if the typing is against a single color backing. You may post a picture with your entry if you choose.
Other than that, please treat each other as adults and use common sense.
Good luck and have fun.

I love Alexander Pope. Eloisa is my favorite.

I'll see what I can do... I love these quotes
-
Who spoke these quotes????? Sorry to nitpick but I make it a good habit to never enter in contest with quotes where the owner's name isn't attached to their quote

I'm sorry that the information was not clearer. All of the quotations are by the featured poet Alexander Pope.
