Subject open, but no lost love, erotica, love poems or bad religious poems. If you enter religious poems, they had better compare favorably with those of Gerald Manley Hopkins or John Milton. No bashing. Prewrites only. Spelling, grammar and punctuation are important, but a really good poem may be forgiven even the most egregious errors. If you are on my block list, you can enter anyway, and might even win, as I'm not petty like some other people, but I obviously won't comment on your poem. DO NOT ENTER A POEM THAT HAS WON A TROPHY IN ONE OF MY CONTESTS BEFORE.
Since I'm still ill, and will be for some time, don't give me any really bad poems. I feel bad enough already. If you don't know what "good" is, check out the poems of micol, cricketjeff, Earth to Jim, or ratherimaginative. They will give you an idea of what I'm looking for. Here's an example of a good rhymed poem from one of my earlier contests:
http://allpoetry.com/poem/4052358
Remember, prewrites only, rhyme only, any subject other than the ones already mentioned as not acceptable. Points may go up if I get some really good poems. I do judge blind, so I won't know who you are (unless I know you so well I recognize your writing), but that won't influence me in the least.
Good luck.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on November 14, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 500, Silver: 200, Bronze: 50, Honorable mention: 3 people
- Final notes: Sorry to take so long with the judging here. I wasn't feeling up to it, so I asked EarthToJim to do it for me. These are his choices, as best I can figure it. I realize that I haven't commented on every poem, but I believe that they have all been read several times. Thanks for entering and good luck with your writing in the future.
