Poetry Formed XXXVII - by Bear

Welcome Poets!

 

     This time we are going to use ONLY the

 single Lanturne Form -

 

- Lanturne -
The Lanturne is a five-line verse, 
shaped like a Japanese lantern, 
with a syllabic pattern of; 
one, two, three, four, one -

 

A simple Form which requires one breath - 

 

 

Syllable count:

missing parts

stolen by greedy

clouds

*

 

 

 

If you think this is easy, give it a try,

        ...but I am looking for perfect aesthetics and smooth flow -

 

No punctuation or CAPS allowed, except for *God's* *Jesus's* *Angel's*

You must create a Lanturne which makes the Reader stop and ponder -

 

Using graphics is okay,

        ...but I do want to see your Lantern stand on its' own -

    Great job Poets!

    Remember to avoid words such as *to*.....*and*.....*so*......*was*......*then*....as these words take away from thought and take away space for words which BRING thought into your Form ~

    Many writes deserve a Trophy, but I always make you work to get to the top 6 spaces.......so just because you did not get a Greeny, does not mean your work was not good ~

    If you have never entered any of my Poetry Formed Contests, you should expect to be Challenge in Aesthetics & Message......the rest is dedication to the Form itself ~

    A Lanturne is Art, and it should be treated as such, as did the Scribes and Poets of ancient days for their Masters as Gifts......I expect nothing less from all of you ~
