...so, here's a contest, it's for 1 day; 'cause I ain't stickin' around; I'm only here 'cause I'm bored; this boredom will last 1 day, so you have 24 hours to enter one of your poems, shitty or not, into this contest if you want 1st place. There's only going to be a 1st place; no second, or third, or hm's, and if they have anything else added since I was gone -- that either.
I will not be commenting on your work unless I want to. so if you enter expecting one of "Nam's comments or critiques" you may or may not get one; don't whine about. nothing about me has changed; I'm still an asshole. this fact is evident since a website I've been going to that's not this one, they actually told me that they (the administration) get together once a month and take a vote on whether to ban me for life or not.
I didn't know I was so loved.
anyway...1 entry, that's all you need to enter, and if you need to enter more, you suck, so, don't enter if you feel compelled to enter more.
if you know how I judge from entering my contests in the past, you know what to do; if you don't, ask someone who enters who may or may not have done such a thing, or don't enter. or take a chance. I give a shit either way.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on October 15, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 4000, Silver: 50, Bronze: 25, Honorable mention: 4 people
- Final notes: I removed 4 poems entered by Nermin Nazim; apparently s/he can't read that I asked for only 1 entry; let me spell that out for you: O-N-E -- just because I'm not a Silver/Gold member, doesn't mean I can't logout, backtrack, and then refresh the page to see who entered the Contest. Not as stupid as some people think.
This Contest was solely about me getting rid of my points; why I have them? I don't know but I still had a bit over 200+ points left, and so I added a measely 2nd, and 3rd place, and HM's. 3rd place will be getting less points than the Hm's but you got a trophy, so don't complain.
I know I will get points for this Contest but not enough that I care to get rid of 'cause they too are measely.
Anyway...

Once a month, eh?
Wonder if there's an 'Internet Asshole' award or something we can nominate you for.
Anyway... glad to see you back, even if it's for only one day. -

Well, I tried getting on Myspace (hadn't been there in over a month) but it kept on giving me an error page; and then it took me to their mobile phone website ?
Anyway...I've been banned from 4 other websites in that 3 month period, one that I never even been to; that was freakin' weird. I swear, never been to the wesbite in my life, I was told to go register there by an "online acquintance" at the website I'm currently placing my feet up at, and I went back to that website and told them that that website had banned me for life and never been there before.
I guess I'm more famous in some circles than I thought.

LOL -- Regrettably, I don't have time to draft a new poem. Candidly, though, I am far less interested in poetry contests as I am in learning what exactly is this website you mention that has monthly meetings to consider whether to ban you. I am dying to see what about your content there provoked such democratic editorialism.

Seriously, nice to see you back here, if only briefly. I'm hardly ever around myself, so I can relate. -

It's an "atheistic" website; my Karma is +215/-148. I actually wasn't at that website for 4 months, and I gained 30 minus points without even being there. But I actually like the administration there better than here; there if a Mod accuses you of something, you can call them out on it, and if another Mod gets involved they won't necessarily side with the Mod. Like I was accused of derailing a topic started by one of the Mod's but it was the Mod who actually derailed the topic so she called in another moderator and he determined that she in fact did derail the topic, and that I didn't do anything wrong; and he is one of the Mod's that don't like me, and probably is one of those who votes for me to be banned; of course, he left the website a few weeks ago, deleted his account, I hope I wasn't the cause, even though he didn't like me, I sort of liked him; very intelligent guy.

So how does that work, then? Does your Karma go down if you claim to be a Christian, or more appropos a Budhist?
And what are you complaining about? I am surprised you only lost 30 points for a 3 month absence. Hell, you should feel offended that you lost so few points. You totally need to shoot for at least 100 Karma points loss next time
By the way, since you've been gone, I convinced Kevin to implement a new "Nam-friendly" policy. He's agreed that after some period of time -- I think maybe six months -- the system will remove you from "ignore" lists unless the person ignoring you affirmatively indicates that they want you to stay on that list. At least he said on the Policy Board he liked the idea -- I don't know if it has been implemented in the code yet. However, you may get down into double digits on those ignore lists thanks to me

Well, technically before the owner of the website put in a log in for karma (because people were abusing it by minusing and plussing people for no apparent reason but to do it) my actual karma (if he'd change it but he won't) would be +115/-12 or something like that, so it's actually inaccurate but when he put in the log people stopped abusing it because they could get banned for doing so. But the karma's stay the same, so if someone gives me a minus, the plus doesn't detract, it just stays where it is.
If people wish to ignore me, that's their business, I just find it all humorous.

Maybe I am just never in the right place at the right time to see you transform into a helleon who deserves serial bannings. To me you just seem anabashedly honest, forthright, and fed up with people who do certain things. Sounds like maybe you have offended some people, too. I don't think it makes sense to ban someone - and certainly not for life - unless that person is going out of his/her way to be disruptive. In my experience, you give quality feedback on poems and hold lots of contests that a lot of AP's better poets make a point of turning out for. Maybe AP is turning into a social engineering project, but as long as it's still called AllPoetry, I think there should be some effort made to keep the people around who are all about better art. It serves as a welcome counterbalance for the much maligned hordes of angsty teenagers who write and award trophies to "poems" characterized by chat lingo, cliche, vampires, and razor blades, tied together without poetic devices.
What's this business about karma? Is that new? Doesn't show up on my account page, I don't think.
Anyway, hope you will be back eventually. I think you're an asset to AP, and I've enjoyed talking to you.
Best,
Morgan
