Cool Prompt! Come check it out!

I *might* be changing my AP name! That's right. I've been known as PALOSZOO by everyone everywhere I go for way too long. I haven't changed my name yet. This isn't set in stone.

The other side me is completely different than what my home page portrays. That's only half of me. I'm really nervous about changing my AP name to reflect who I am inside, so for your prompt, you'll be using my possible new name. I want to see what people think of when they see it.

Your prompt: SHATTERED ALIVE

Rules:

1. Be real.
2. Be honest with your emotions when writing.
3. Do not write your poem to me or about me.
4. NO WRITING IN ALL CAPS.
5. No WrItInG lIkE tHiS. i WiLl KiCk U.
6. Be kind and courteous to other poets and to me.
7. Try to respond to at least one other person's poem. It's common courtesy.
8. Nothing over 75 lines, or I'll fall asleep. zzzzzzzzz

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on October 25, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 100, Bronze: 75, Honorable mention: 2 people
  • Final notes:
This was a fun contest. It was interesting to see what people thought of when they were prompted with "Shattered Alive" and I have to admit I was thrilled with the entries that came in. Such talent and thoughtfulness. The gold winning poem is phenomenal. Everyone should take a moment to read it. After these long two weeks of thinking and getting feedback on my name change to Shattered Alive, I've decided to keep Paloszoo for now. Thanks, everyone!

So do you want us to write a poem based on the prompt' Shattered Alive' and then put our name thoughts at the end of it - or you want a list of names that we thought of from the prompt Shattered Alive?

I want you to title the poem however you see fit, but write about the prompt "shattered alive". How does it inspire you? Let your muse flow freely.

I enjoy the theme of this contest, especially the fact that you're trusting the AP community to help you with a new name... good luck in finding the perfect one!
