Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on October 11, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 30, Bronze: 10
- Final notes: Sorry I did not comment on any of the entries.
Though I found them to be adequate I did not find anything differently unique,no one item really shone above the rest as all related to selfish acts about dying.
Not one really took it out of the box.
This is not to say that these poetic offerings are bad, Just perhaps that my own expectations where possibly aimed too high.
I will know better next time.
Thanks anyway for all your entries.

The Clock Is Ticking
Hey mom,
this may be hard to read.
However, I have to leave now as you can see.
I am going to visit dad.
He said he would take me to that one place you two used to take us to, you know the one with the birds and the seashells. =]
He knew I loved the beach.
He is also taking me on a hot-air balloon ride,
for he doesnt know I am afraid of heights.
I want to spend the last of my hours in his presence.
Because I dont see him as often as I like.
So thanks for all you did mom, but daddy doesnt know I have to leave forever.
So when he finds out, can you tell him something for me?
Can you tell him that I love him, and the clock is ticking so i must leave. -
I didn't have time to write before the contest ended, but maybe you'd be interested.
This one and only night with you
Holds not time enough to do
All the things I’ve dreamt, and you’ve dreamt too.
Each second ticking breaks my heart
Knowing that soon we’ll be apart,
And each second ticking brings us to the start
Of the end, so goodbye my sweetheart.
And all the time that we’ve spent dreaming
Of the future together that we were weaving
Gave me a hope for life that was deceiving,
So I’ve begun to stop believing.
I can only dream of escaping the end
And sadly love isn’t strong enough to mend
This doom, impossible to fully comprehend.
Only one hope still exists to me,
That our souls will combine and be set free
And leave behind all that is dying and earthly
To float through the stars and forget man-kinds folly.
But such thoughts never come true,
And when the worlds gone, all good will be too
Because never again will I share love with you.
The worlds is falling apart
So good luck my sweetheart.
