We are having Indian Summer right now here in Germany, where it is actually called "Old Woman's Summer" for all the cobwebs that can be found each morning in the fields. So write something about this special time of year or about old women, white hair, cobwebs...

Bookmarked.

Will definitely enter if time allows. -

wonderful! I look forward to your entry. "Indian summer" refers to a period of warm days that set in after the first frost but before true winter hits in northern regions of the hemisphere... not to be confused with summer in the country of India. There is typically high color in the trees at this time.

ooo, what book is it? I grew up in northern New York state where we might or might not experience an Indian summer from fall to fall. The wiki has a list of five ideas of where the name comes from, which interested me: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_summer

Hi, yes, it has nothing to do with India - it is a North American term for the weather at this time of year, warm days that suddenly come after the first frost but before winter hits. I put a link to the wikipedia in the comment above yours if you want to refer to it. In Europe, it has to do with the feminine in mythology and folklore.
I'll be happy to see something by you.

Thanks for the silver ea; your contests remain one of the few reasons I linger on AP. If I wasn't so behind on my studies, I'd enter more. As it is, however, I must be off.
Great prompt as always. And the wreaths with the yankee candles sounds lovely. -

Glad you enjoyed. Good luck with school.
