Hello Everyone, I thought it was time I held another contest. I have been reading a book and in one of the short stories it refers often to 'sister said' and I thought it sounded a cool idea for a contest.
For this contest I would like poems about experiences, or thoughts, about situations where "he, she, grandma, mum, dad, sister, brother, teacher, etc etc said..."
Your poem must start, finish or include the phrase of your choice... "..(fill-in blank here).....said". eg "Mother said my hair will curl if I ate my crust"
"Sister said I was too little to go" etc
Get the idea?
Maybe you have some wise words of wisdom handed down by older relatives or friends that people quote often.
Use of poetic devices a must eg imagery, rhyme or free verse.
After a lot of bad luck within the family recently I need to focus on something else so am running this contest.
Pic above is just for show as it was cute, and isn't meant as part of contest but if it inspires you, well and good as long as it is within set guidelines above...
Now get writing and have fun.
Rules
1. No swearing or adult theme allowed
2. No prewrites allowed
3. No sticky caps etc
4. 40 lines or less
5. Spellcheck please
6. Have Fun
I reserve the right to remove unsuitable entries or those not fitting this theme. So please message me if you do not understand what is asked for here so I don't have to remove entry.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on October 19, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 6 people
- Final notes: Thanks for the great entries everyone, although I was hoping for more, but it was a difficult decision on some placings, but the winners are the ones that appealed to me the most. However, I decided to increase the amount of HMs. Keep on writing and I hope to have another contest soon. Nellies Room was a delight to read and I think we can all relate to this, but all entries were well thought out and very well expressed. Thanks for entering.
