I will be judging on SUNDAY 26th October. Make sure your entries are how you'd like them judged. I will delete incomplete entries. If my original comment stating your prompt isn't present in your comments, please ensure you place it in your AN...why? Because I can't remember every prompt...also some people aren't reading the rules, or they're just entering what they like instead of recieving a prompt from me.
Thanks, and the best of luck to everyone.
Let me invade your privacy...
Reserve your spot.
I’ll take a look at one or two of your poems and choose my favourite word or expression of yours.
You must then create a new write with that as your prompt.
For example, if I took my own poem, "On the tip" I might take the word "cracked" and offer that as a prompt.
Guidelines:
Be your own inspiration.
Check spelling.
Show don't tell.
No cliches.
*Try not to write about the actual word/expression. Look beyond it.
Up for the challenge? Warning: this may not be a walk in the park.
Please ensure somewhere in your entry you note what your prompt was, i.e in your authors notes. (If my original comment, when I gave you your prompt, still appears with your entry, you needn't make a note elsewhere.)
--
I reserve the right to remove any entry I dislike.
NOTE TO ENTRANTS: You all have very different prompts, merely because every poet has his/her own style which is unique to them.
You all use different ranges of diction; some poets use blankets of adjectives, and some poets stick to what is reality and material. For this reason I tried to pick a prompt that might allow each poet to explore their own creativity and also one that should challenge that ability.
If your muse doesn’t like the prompt I’ve given you, then I’m sorry. You may give it your best shot or remove your reserved spot and allow another poet to have a go. Each poet gets one prompt only.
Best of luck to all entrants.
Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on October 27, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 100, Bronze: 50, Honorable mention: 4 people
- Final notes: Hey everyone,
the contest inspired by yourself has finally ended.
I really enjoyed this so much, and due to the amount of entrants I will certainly think about holding a similar one again sometime.
I just want to say well done to each and everyone of you. You've shown yourself that inspiration can come from all places, even from your own work.
Congratulations to the winners. They were chosen by how I thought they handled their prompt and how the poem read in terms of creativity.
Thanks again to everyone.
I look forward to seeing you again soon in one of my future contests!!!
