I'm not sure I understand what your contest is about

the prompt and title are from my life and the image is of me. but as for the actual contest, it's about whatever you want to think it's about

the picture file size is actually pretty large... try giving it a minute to load

but if you actually wanted a direct prompt, i can see some common interpretations of this as being about silence, love, the power of the spiritual over the physical, and/or eating paper. but you're free to write whatever you want, although it would be nice if it came from some part of this page

This is a great prompt. Is it a cultural thing that when people leave comments on contests, a lot of hosts don't respond?

I almost started a topic on this in the forum because I just find it odd when they don't answer - like they don't really care if you are enthusiastic or don't want to encourage an entry. I can't get a feeling if it is certain cultures that tend to answer or not; that sort of interests me since I live in Germany. LOL. It seems to me that people answer their friends but not strangers leaving comments. I don't tend to comment on contests much myself; I just will write something straight away if they interest me - but I see a lot of this bookmarking business and wonder if it helps boost contest holder's morales or not. I guess not, if they don't tend to deliver. Still, it's nice (for me) to know that it caught someone's interest, at least.

i think we know different germans... but then again i only know german immigrants, maybe you know the 'real' ones
but other than that, i pretty much agree with you. probably anything you post on an active part of this site will be read and considered by multiple people. you're being heard, just not getting an answer/response in some cases, i think.

Yes, I live in Swabia - Swabians are different from other Germans even. I should have said Swabians. They wouldn't post an answer out of feelings of self-consciousness and bringing attention to themselves, mainly. Which is something I relate to having grown up in a small town in the conservative northeast, as well.

I'm sorry, I had you completely confused with someone else on here named Ellipsis. I have entered her contests many times and she has me listed as a friend, so sorry for any confusion - that's who I thought I was talking to! I don't understand how you both have the
            same name! http://allpoetry.com/ellipsist

These words you have here, remind me of Regina Spektor's lyrics.

    Particularly "Samson."

    I don't know why.
    So simple.
    So powerful.
I can imagine them being said delicate yet strongly.

    I really like them.

By the way, I also like your username. ;D
