The Art Of Words

Welcome to my contest!

Option #1 Be creative with your words and write a poem
that rhymes and doesn't make much sense.

Here's my example,

Silent Rumors Go Free

A rumors faint whisper
through a silent breeze,
only the heart knows
what the mind sees.

A shot in the dark
yet to be heard,
breaks open windows
in spite of a word.

The speed of light
cannot disclose,
what truth can be
when nothing shows.

Heard in the thunder,
not in the rain,
a gust of wind
does not harbor pain.

Feelings go free
in unspoken form,
silenced by winds
that caused the storm.

------------------------

Option #2 Write a poem of repentance as if you are speaking to or praying to the Lord. This option you can use any form of poetry not just rhyme.

Here's my example,

I Come To Thee

With broken heart and contrite spirit
I come to you this day,
I ask thee for forgiveness
while on my knees I pray.

I fold my arms most reverently
and raise my voice to you,
I know that you can hear my words
through prayer you help me through.

You are my light in darkness.
you're there to show the way,
you guide me with pure love
and help me throughout the day.

Right now I come to you in tears
your comfort proves divine,
in a way you hold my hand
and now I feel fine.
----------------------------------

The normal rules apply
no erotica, etc.

Just do your best and have fun!

Smile!

    ...

Would you like poems for option two to rhyme as well?

It doesn't matter if the religious poems rhyme or not. Thanks for pointing that out.

Who decides if the poem doesn't make sense?

In my early AP years i intentionally wrote poems devoid of any logic just to see and they were lauded as masterpieces. lol

Your example poem could in the right eyes be simply the best poem ever.

Interesting contest though, maybe i can come up with something.

Yes I'm hoping to get some masterpieces here. I guess I'll decide if the poem doesn't make sense. I'm sure they'll all be masterpieces anyway.
