“When two people love each other, they don't look at each other; they look in the same direction.”
Love comes in many forms; between parents and children, between pets and owners, between life long friends, and between lovers. It’s the latter example this contest will be concentrating on; the passion of love.

Rules regarding your entry -
I want poetry about real love. Not the pain of love, but the happiness of love.
I don’t just want a blanket of adjectives; I want abstract emotion and simple, true love.
I want real life, not fairytales. I want fresh creativity, not lazy clichés.
I prefer free verse, I am critical of rhyme especially if it uses overused ideas.
There should be enough inspiration on this page to help you even if you don’t have a muse of your own.
*Tip -- To get the best idea of what I like, look at what I write.
If your entry doesn't abide by these rules, or the guidelines below, I will remove your entry.

"Love is a journey not a destination."

"The ultimate test of a relationship is to disagree, but still hold hands."
"Love is when you find yourself spending every wish on them."

Guidelines:
I prefer free verse.
Rhyme must be smooth and not at all forced or predictable in any way.
No sad stories- this is about passion of love.
No line limits, but keep it within reason.
Check spelling and punctuation before entering.
Any entry containing swearing or erotica must be subtle and tasteful.
Image and quote credit: Images taken from art.co.uk. Quote creators unknown.
I will remove any entry that is not up to the standards I’m looking for.

contest inspired.
"Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are.
Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two.
"Love is the beauty of the soul." -
Thank you kindly.
