Dearest daughter,
Hurricane Ike did not treat us well. I am on my daughters computer at this time because a tornado and high winds from Ike has totaled our home. We have nothing but the clothes on our backs and a few things I grabbed as we escaped the carnage. Thank God our lives were spared as well as my whole family. I am currently staying with my daughter Lori in her small one bedroom apt but we are coping. Sort of like camping out. Keep us in your prayers as always and we will let Spirit work his will . Our light continues to shine no matter how many tears are being shed at this time. my eyes are swollen from all the tears, not just for us but for all that Hurricane Ike has done to everyone here
Let everyone know on AP that it will be awhile before I return full time. I can only use my daughters puter a limited time per day at this time, so much love to you and jean-marc..I love you all sooooo much..

Good Gracious! So sad to hear. Though I am not on personal terms with SpiritMother, I have read many of her pieces here. She and her family will certainly remain in my thoughts and prayers. Hope you get many entries expressin their feelings and I will surely try to write something for this wonderful woman.

I am so sorry and I can really feel for them...I lost my house in Charley and we were left leaving in a camper for two and a half years...it was hard but we held on and put up the fence first to foster 13 large misplaced dogs and ten cats...hold the faith and all will be well...I wish you and all the others who were effect all the love and blessings I can send...

I have been trying to get her. We also suffer from damage from Ike
Please tell Helen That I try to call her and several of my family and Carol anne and Dee Catz Daddy. The service was not open yet. it was still out. We had no elec for three days but we did have a generator. Tell helen I do not have lori phone# Iam suppose to be in houston Thrusday for my back. Im dong so much better. only my old age article(SP) hurt me but I take two BC powder and it gone. Well I got to lay down. The spirits was up last night and the wolves and coyoate was howling also. This is not over with. We have many more hurricane and many tornado and many killing. until god sweep this world clean and become our good lands. then We will find Peace finally. Little one you are a good lady.

Aww that's so sad, At least they still have there lives and a Ray of hope. We'll Pray for her and her family. We experienced the wrath of Ike in Ohio over 800,0000 people were without power for a week. A few people were killed including the guy who was searching for his missing Osu College Intern Son

I have been unable to be on AP for quite some time and I have also been trying to contact Helen by phone but as there are no lines yet I didn't know until today what had happened. I had hoped that they had been lucky and that only power was out. Please pass on my sorrow for her loss of all her personal possessions, I too have known that and how much it hurts. I give thanks though that she and all her family are safe and hope that they get settled in a new life very soon. God keep them all well, please pass on my concern and good wishes. Sheila, Wales UK

Just a little message for SpiritMother...
Dear SpiritMother,
I know you don't know me but I just wanted to let you know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I can't imagine what it must feel like to lose your house. I'm so glad no one in your family was hurt, at least not physically but I bet it is hard to let go of some of the things that your house held... like memories, stories and photographs. You can't put a value on those. I love the way you say that staying with your daughter is almost like camping out. That made me smile at the positive, fun way you can look at anything. I think you are very brave. 
You know the phrase "Home is where the heart is" ? I really believe that. Your heart is so resilient, so full of love...and hope. I hope that really soon you have another place of your own, where you heart can be and you can call Home.
My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by Hurricane Ike.

I know it's hard to lose everything you own (I can only imagine)especially all the precious memories you have experienced over the years. The momentos, photographs would be very hard. I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you yet but I know you are a very spiritual lady and you will come through your ordeal a stronger and better person.
Your spirit my be wounded with tears you have shed
since losing everything but will become strong one more.
It's a blessing you are all safe and that's the main thing, house and possessions can be replaced, but lives can't.
So please accept my love and blessings and know that your Angels and Guides are with you guiding you through your ordeal.
