All-time Best Rhyming Prewrites

I want rhyme. I want flow. I want emotion...of any kind

Give me your very best. In order to ensure that I get great entries, I will DQ any entries that I know don't have a chance to win. Please do not take it personally. I will still comment one every poem, even if it is DQ'd.

Good luck!!!

1. Must rhyme
2. Must flow (regular meter is good...but if you can make it flow without it, more power to ya!)
3. No erotica
4. Please keep language tasteful. If you don't know what I mean, then don't enter.
5. No religion bashing.

Have fun!!!!!! Can't wait to read some wonderful poetry!!!!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on September 23, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 10 people
  • Final notes:
Man, it was really hard to decide on a final order for this contest. I even ended up adding ten honorable mentions, because there were so many GREAT poems! Thank you all for entering, and congrats to the winners. Your poems really stood out.

Gold: "Symphony in Blood" amazing story-telling, deliciously devilish...it was disturbing, but undeniably good.

Silver: "Hope" your nearly flawless flow and effortlessly natural rhyme was the clincher. I also relate to this piece spiritually.

Bronze: "Haunted" amazing vocabulary and metaphor with a fairly smooth rythm. The thing that got me, honestly, was the fact that it was written by a twelve-year-old!!! She is fifteen now, and still pens amazing poetry. Check out her work.

Well, thanks everyone for participating. I hope you enjoyed this contest, because I surely did!!!!
