Joys and Fears - Pay It Forward

First I would like to say thank you to Blooming Poet for the gold I won right here :

http://allpoetry.com/contest/2420895

I was very thrilled and excited!

Now I am paying it forward. It's up to you if you do the same or not but it is appreciated if you do!

You have two choices.

In 10-50 words write to me about what makes you really happy or either what makes you really scared, depressed, etc.

Use metaphor! Think outside of the box.

You will have until sometime tonight.

If you reserve and don't come back to finish it you can not enter the next pay it forward contest I do.

This is opened for 20 people. When I come back tonight and see if there are at least 10 I will judge it but if there are under 10 I will leave it until tomorrow!

Rules -

NO EROTICA please!

Sensual is fine but no erotica. If love makes you happy go for it but please think outside of the box and use metaphor!

Please no I cut myself because of her etc....

Dark is fine but no cutting!! If you use dark please think outside of the box to express how you're feeling!

Any form is fine just make sure the text is readable. No busy backgrounds or pictures that overpower the poem.

Profanity is fine but please put it in the adult section. Label all poems accordingly because this contest is opened for all ages.

No bashing/insulting with comments, poems etc is allowed.

I will allow up to 60 words but would perfer for you to stay around 10-50. It decreases your chance of winning if you do go over but I won't d'q you.

Prizes may or may not increase. It depends on what ya'll give me!

Please give me something out of the norm! Metaphor, dark, humor whatever choice you use please let it be unique! I can't stress this enough. However while I want it to be unique I also want to understand it. I don't like being overwhelmed with huge words that makes my head hurt!

I will be honest with my comment when reviewing your poem. I won't make a fluff comment. However if you are sensitive about comments and just want me to view your poem without commenting please tell me in the notes and I will respect that.

No prewrites are allowed. I want new feelings not yesterdays!

Good luck everyone!

PS - The ones being effected with tropical storm Ike you're in my thoughts!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on September 16, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 300
  • Final notes:
    Hello Everyone,

Thank you all for being patient with me in this not so quickie contest! lol. I was waiting for more but seeing as it doesn't look like a lot of people are going to enter I am closing it. Prizes didn't increase due to lack of enteries.

The winner really thought outside of the box on a subject I believe all of us are fimilar with. The wording and flow in this piece I believe is perfect.

The silver winner was really good as well. It is also outside of the box. I had problems with only one word but other then that the feeling in this piece is right on.

The third winner is so sad and the ending just left me with chills. My main problem with it was the size of text and color.

For the ones that didn't win each poem is memorable and I do thank you.

Maddhatress - your poem on the rain is great! It made me smile and laugh but the only thing lacking was I didn't feel it was really outside of the box.

Evidently - your poem really was close to my heart but again I just didn't feel it was really outside of the box.

cut13roses - I liked your poem and it made me think of highschool but once again it wasn't out of the norm.

The ones that won are all poems out of the norm on day to day subjects.

I do appreciate everyones entry and I thank you all for entering!

    Kari
