Okay everyone, I am going to be giving you
quite a few options to choose from,
and I am only allowing FRESH writes for this.
I am expecting nothing less than amazing poetry
If I do not think it meets the expectations of this
contest nor relates to it, I have the right to DQ.
*You MAY reserve, but please make sure you finish it*
-Don't forget to place the OPTION # you choose
in your Author's Notes I will DQ if you do not.
& also please don't forget to CREDIT all the pictures
in your author's notes as well.
What I will be expecting & looking for;
fresh imagery, metaphor, use of poetic devices, depth,
emotion, originality, & vibrance.
I will NOT accept cliche.
I want you all to step outside the box
and give me something I'd never think of myself.
I am giving out BIG points for a reason
and I want good stuff. I have the right to close the
contest if I do not receive what I asked for.

A) The foliage has been losing its freshness through the month of August,

the locks of a beauty who has seen one season too many.
~Oliver Wendell Holmes
B] Autumn is a second spring when every leaf's a flower.
~Albert Camus
C) "The leaves fall, the wind blows, and the farm country slowly
changes from the summer cottons into its winter wools."
~Henry Beston, Northern Farm
D) "The milkweed pods are breaking,
And the bits of silken down
Float off upon the autumn breeze
Across the meadows brown."
~Cecil Cavendish, The Milkweed
E) "The wind-blown leaves turn,
Dancing the golden sunlight
across the tired floor."
~Author unknown
F) "A tangerine and russet cascade
Of kaleidoscopic leaves
Creates a tapestry of autumn magic
Upon the emerald carpet of fading summer."
~Judith A. Lindberg, Shades of Autumn
G) "I sit quietly, listening to the falling leaves -
A lonely hut, a life of renunciation.
The past has faded, things are no longer remembered,
My sleeve is wet with tears."
~Ryokan, 1758-1831
One Robe, One Bowl, Translated by John Stevens

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on October 14, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 1000, Silver: 500, Bronze: 300
- Final notes: WOW; this was THE hardest contest I've had to judge in a long time. Like every entry was just amazing, and it took me so long to choose the winners, I do apologize for the late judgement. I found it very difficult to choose winners, as everyone's write was surely worth gold to me. So everyone really deserves gold. I loved them all. Brilliant works friends!! Thanks so much for making this a great contest, I enjoyed each of your beautiful writes.
You made me realize why it is I love this season so much. God Bless!
