For many years now I have been greatly honoured to have the phenomenal friendship of a very phenomenal lady... a real life angel in fact! A lady by the name of JoAn Greinert from Henderson in Nevada. USA.
JoAn paints spiritual essences of famous stars and of anyone who commissions her to and they are phenomenal too as was the one Jo-An painted of my daughter Karlie (Karlie67 on AP) and I too.
When 9/11 struck JoAn and I were so devastated as I had emailed Barbara Olsen only the day before about having Jo-An interviewed on her TV show in connection with JoAn's phenomenal works of art. Barbara was killed on one of the 9/11 planes which were flown into the World Trade Center.
As JoAn was born in Brooklyn NY I felt it would be fitting for me to commission Jo-An to paint a masterpiece featuring the 'lost souls of the WTC and I would pay JoAn to do this and to ship it to the Governor of NYC to auction off to raise funds for the victim's families affected by the 9/11 tragedy, so we did just that! One of JoAn's paintings below is that very painting... can you guess which one it is? Be great if you could pen on it and pick that out in the painting iteself! Now there's a challenge for you right?! Go for it! You can do it!
So now we are going to have a very special time here penning poems on the phenomenal masterpiece of a phenomenal artist who is known to UK Royalty too ....

OK, now before you go penning anything please please please read below carefully:

ONE painting per entrant and TWO entrants per painting.
so choose your muse and add this to your notes and in brackets in your title or if you
Reserve put "Reserve (Option # _) in the subject line where you out the name of your poem, so that others
entering the contest know which ones are left to work with and we know which paintings are being worked on!
We want you to view the painting as someone in an art gallery looking at the painting you have chosen, then pen what you see, or go beyond what you see and pen what you feel from it or how you personally would interpret it.
If you reserve you MUST complete your poem withing 24 hours max of doing so (NO longer please) DQ will occur if this is not done to give someone else a chance as places are limited, and a lot have expressed an interest to enter.
*Ammendment to this rule: (Thanks Matske!) This applies ONLY to entries that are posted in the final 48 hours of the contest)*.
Entrants must be happy for their poem to be given out with the painting when sold or used
in any publications by JoAn Greinert in connection with these paintings. If poets would prefer not to have their work used then it won't be and in any event permission would be asked from you beforehand and only used if you give this and it doesn't infringe on copyright's involving your publisher or any other. This will always be with full mutual agreement. If poets are happy for their names to be known in any event, that will be ok if they prefer not to have their name stated/made known in this connection that's ok too! Very easy going on this and idea of this is artists and poets mutually supporting each other where there is mutual agreement to do so!
Artists paint with paints and poets with words, put the two together and the artist can illustrate the painted words with paint and the poet can paint an interpretation of the artwork with words and that means mutally beneficial happenings hopefully!
Watch this space! Likewise applies to photographers, and other producers or art, and writers as well as poets. Together we can make a difference by mutually supporting one another.

I forgot to make this a maxium of 30 lines when I set the contest so from now on please can contestants try to make their entries no more than 30 lines if possible, bearing in mind that these works may be used in a book featuring the painting as the illustration and the poem as the written illustration on each page and that the book will be UK A5 size.

Holy Ground isn't the one painted for the lost souls of the WTC but hey do keep guessing!
JoAn and I are not related as far as we know by way of a blood line or mortal line, but spiritually we seem to be! We have a lot in common, as both of us are Artists and painters, and have an interest in spirituality ad the arts.
We both have a sense of humour and are tuned into other forces out there in the Universe etc, and we are both into healing and health etc.
JoAn lives in Nevada and I would love to move to the USA to live as I have a passion for all things American and feel I should have been born there and not here in the UK as I have a greater affinity with the USA than the UK.
So some common ground between us for sure!
It is funny how co-incindences happen though!

Interesting and unique artwork! "Prepare for the light" may be the artwork commisioned to auction to raise funds for 911. To me it speaks of the lost loved ones journeying towards the Light, light being shed on the tragic event, those loved one's left behind needing to feel the Light to walk in the shadow of darkness and also those that were responsible for the dark deeds to see the Light and to desist from dark deeds.
