Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on September 19, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 1000, Silver: 700, Bronze: 300, Honorable mention: 17 people
  • Final notes:

WOW - What a difficult contest this was to judge! Congratulations to you ALL - You're all winners, and I gladly thank each and every poet for submitting their wonderfully beautiful poetry into my contest!! Everyone earned an HM trophy, as ALL these poems are extraordinary!!!

The top three awards went to the poems that touched me the most - either through the bittersweet feelings of national pride in our heroic soldiers; or the outrage at the inhumane treatment of our fellow human beings; or just plain longing - you know - that feeling of simple nostalgia for hearth and home, being with family, and a sense of love and peace in the heart and soul of my ancestors' homeland. Each of the top three poems brought a lump to my throat, a tear to my eye, and/or goosebumps and chills, in the reading of their magnificent poetry. Such profound work, that it evokes a strong emotion of some sort.

Again, I sincerely thank you all, for taking the time to write your outstanding poetry and submit it here, to share with all of us. Yes, they also each touched me in some way. You're all great!!!! Love & Peace to All, Cyn
