Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on October 1, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 2000, Silver: 2000, Bronze: 6001
  • Final notes:
I have to say, I hated seeing this one end.
Each poem stood on its own, and each voice was truly remarkable.
I'm not sure Darcy will agree with my picks, but I know she loved them all from her comments.
I wish I could give you all something, yet I feel I did in a way, as you stretched yourselves as poets to pay tribute to a wonderful lady.
I plan on doing more of this type of contest, so look out people, you never know with me.

    Gold-Mel
    Silver-JP
    Bronze-the original herself
    Nicole...she knows what I'm speaking of...lol

    read each others work
    some good stuff here

Darcy, you know how I feel
    till we do another chylde

    peace Muddy

Is this a joke? You know it isn't possible, right? I don't mean to be pessimistic but are you saying that the winner will be the one that sucks at achieving the goal the least.

I'm saying, as was the case in Scott's contest...it's not about points or trophies, just the love of the poet and the inspiration they give us on a regular basis...to be honest if an entry sucks...it won't win anything...lol

I didn't mean the entries would suck, just the ability to write like her, cuz nobody really can. Just my opinion but she does have a very distinct voice. Cool contest though. Fun thing to try. Just don't laugh.

I love her to death as I'm sure everyone here knows, but no way am I attempting this. lol. Smacks too much of... blah... EMULATIONS, which she knows I so despise. Besides, all this praise for her makes me... itchy and self-conscious. LOL. My ego can't take it. One more gold trophy for her and I'm gonna repeatedly stab myself with plastic sporks.

Tis true, this thing you speak of.

Still... emulations. Ick. I feel so unoriginal pilfering someone elses style. lol. Or... MORE unoriginal anyway

Maybe I'll just string a bunch of nonsensical metaphors together in one-word-per-line strings, and then I'd be a shoe-in!

HAhahahah! You have no idea how happy I am to simply have the opportunity to totally giver her a hard time.

Nothing like asking the impossible; for me, at least. I have read her poetry many times, I can't even comment on it, I am so awed, after wards it's like having an ice cream headache (brain freeze), I walk around licking my lips and holding my head saying, "Damn! That was good."

So I'm guessing you're never going to tell us why you decided to give bronze so many more points than gold and silver? lol. Well, this should be quiet a challenge, one I'm not sure I'm up to, especially finding this contest so late. But I might just give it a go. Great idea, btw.

Oh I'm not worried about points or trophies, just too curious as usual. I only wondered if there was a specific motive behind it, or maybe you just wanted to be controversial, or, well, make curious people like me itch and squirm. haha.
