My notes:
I was impressed with some of the poems and really enjoyed most of them. I did have concerns about some of the writes, but they were alleviated only by the sheer beauty on some of the writes. I want to bring special attention to the listed writers, and I thank everyone for entering. I was very fond of some of the writes that did not make the list due to them disregarding the rules. Thank you so much.
Moqui notes:
I was impressed with the winners for the beauty and power of the poems. I was very fond of The Crow, by Death-Head, and the poem by GreenHorn, and was blown away by the edgy beauty of 'her color' by Joan-of-Arc, as well as the tender reminiscence of 'That Woman, who drove the silver car .... ' by Purush.
Thank you fine poets, for these poems. Moqui Takoda

i always like a good cheery poem about obituary stuff in early september ... in fact, i often read the obituary page of the local fish wrap to see which one the people I have a grudge against may have passed on into the nether places, and hopefully very warm ones at that

I like the mandate of the contest
For me, the sweetest, and shortest, obituary I ever heard of was simply " somebody's darling" which was afforded to an anonymous corpse found in New Zealand by a chap ( I so wish I could recall his name!) who discovered the body and not wanting another human being to be forgotten took the time, action and personal responsibility to organize a burial and a headstone with those words, all for a complete stranger, it is quite one of the most beautiful things that I have ever heard. The NZ chap even arranged to be buried beside this lost soul when his own time came, I unashamedly admit to crying upon learning of such care and concern for a lost soul and it was shortly after I read of an English woman, Sally Shearer, who had lain dead for six years inside her home, alone and forgotten in death as she was in life, if only some kind soul had done the same for her...
