Welcome, each of you, to a contest held
in favour of a majestic writer
to whom many come second to.
To my favourites, I pray you do not feel as though
I value your work any less. The fact of the
matter is, this is a contest held
in the name of whom I consider
potentially the greatest
poet I've ever known.
Hahahaaa.....
His unique style and blase nature, his horrific nightmares
and overall personality have all lead me to
offer to this fantastic creature
an honour he is most
worth of.
Crowknows,
a brilliant author
well worth your time and patience...
write for him for me. Whether you mimick his
style, as many have tried to do but failed in his
poetic charm and elegance, or whether you
pen some beautiful elegance worthy
of his talent... I want
to see you pen
something as
amazing as
his talent;
him.
Crow, this is for you.
Note: If your poem bores me,
it will not be considered.
All freedom offered.

I must disagree with him being considered a great poet.

There will always be different types of poetry, and every mind will mould it in a different way.
I enjoy crow's fast paced, word weaving pieces very much: they appeal to my senses. Blkwidow77 is indeed a fantastic poet, but in an entirely different way, hence I do not see how these great poets can be compared.
A further example is how much I love my poetry, a great deal, and yet I still think crow's is amazing. Because it just is.
You don't have to agree, but I'm singing the same tune.

I know this. I tend to look at the overall quality of an author's poetry as much as I do the details. crow's doesn't measure up.
Anyway, I've said what I wanted to say.

Thank you for the insults, do you give them away to every contest held in someone's honor, or did you go out of the way to bash my work?
-
-
No, and no.
I happened to stumble across this contest while looking for a good contest to join and because TheSilverQuill seemed to hold your work in such high regard, I thought I'd check it out. If I'd wanted to be truly insulting, I would have been. I wasn't--just honest.
