Ok lately I've been very bored on here. I've been craving some good, intelligent poets to come along so I can have a few intelligent conversations while reading some deep, thought provoking poems. I'm hoping to read some great poems, and meet some great people in the process
So heres the options!
-------------
Option 1
-------------
Write about a place in the world right now. It could be where you live, doesn't matter. Tell me what problems come along with this place and what you could (or wish you could) do to change it. If your going to make it about America (because god knows we have our problems) make sure it's not too cliche'd. Be sure to add awesome vocabulary and emotion on this one
-------------
Option 2
------------
Write about the corruption that comes with money. NOTHING CLICHE'D once again, this could be a bit tough to be unique. To give you a little guidance, maybe you could compare it to something. Make a big metaphore out of it. Do something, just don't make it to where I question whether I've read it before.
-------------
Option 3
-------------
Tell me about religion (yikes hopefully everybody will be open-minded with this one) Not about a petitular religion (though you may if you want but I'm wanting this to go a bit further) Tell me what religion can do to/for a person. Do we really need religion in this day of age? I want to know the thought process behind religion. Like why people have the need for religion. Please please don't preach to me. If your going to be for religion, tell me why..don't throw verses at me pleaseeee. I'm one of those scientific people, that question things..so make me question my own beliefs! But please try to do it in a smart way.
-------------
Option 4
------------
Is a peaceful world possible? Tell me why or why not? Can everybody share the world and live in peace..or are we just kidding ourselves? Is there always at least one person that wants to control, or can we change this? What's your views on this? Personally I don't believe a peaceful world is possible. FEEL FREE TO CHANGE MY MIND.
---------------
Option 5
---------------
Write in the eyes of a crazy/brilliant person. IN DEPTH. I want to hear about somebody so crazy that they're brilliant. Many people in our history that discover the greatest things are complete loners and considered weirdos. Maybe this is because they're not influenced by others..? Tell me about this kind of person. Write in their perspective!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well that's all of them so here are the rules!
1) NO BASHING OTHER'S BELIEFS. Note that this is rule number one. I'm a really open minded person. I love questioning my own beliefs and values. I know a lot of options are on personal opinions, so if your going to read other's poems, if you don't agree with what they say, don't bash them or I'm deleting you from this contest. Period. No arguements.
2) With these topics I don't know how you could..but if you put erotic things in your poem, don't make them TOO raw. I'm mature..but still 16!
3)Cursing is a form of expression in my opinion, so if you feel like it..go for it
4) nOnEE oF THiS sHiT
5) (isn't required) If you'd like for me to get to know you and your poetry better, include your username in your AN. *Note* I'm only going to judge on the poem you enter, so don't think putting your username is going to better your chances of winning. I'm going to make it fair. But if you want me to read some of your other poems, to really get to know some of your opinions and expressions, feel free to do so
6) Option number in AN
**these aren't really rules just suggestions**
-I always enjoy it when people explain their poem in the AN. I like to know their specific opinions on things, more in depth. So you'll probably get bonus points if you do this
- Extra points will vary on the amount of entries I get. I will FOR SURE add a second place. (about 100-150 points) The rest will depend on the amount/quality of entries.
-I will comment on every poem
, for the sake of being fair.. I'm not going to applaud any though, even if I really love the write.
-I prefer fresh writes, but if you've got something older, you can enter it. (it just better be good
)
Good luck, I hope I get some deep, thought provoking poems

Hmm...I'd like to write something new, but I have something old that fits Option 2, and I don't know whether I'll have time to write a new thing 'cause of schoolwork-related doom. So is it OK if I enter a prewrite and then remove it and replace it with a new one if I ever get round to writing something? Or would that be annoying?
-
Haha school doom don't you hate it

Um I suppose it would depend on how good your prewrite is haha. But really, it's up to you, I wouldn't mind if you put in a prewrite and a new one. Or if you deleted the other one, either way, your choice

OK, thanks

I don't think I'll enter this contest, as I do not have the time, but I must say, you have some great, well-thought options in this!
