This picture inspired my thinking of some classic romances involving the sea, both in movies and music. I'd like to see someone come up with a poem that reflects the symbolic idea of a woman waiting for her lover to return from the sea. It can be anything you like, no restrictions, but please try to keep it romantic.
The only rules I'm applying are
1. No profanity or anything pornographic, though erotic is fine.
2. Plenty of color and description.
3. Tell a story with your poem.
That's all, hope everyone can come up with something.

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on August 30
- Rewards: Gold: 600, Silver: 300, Bronze: 200, Honorable mention: 2 people
- Final notes: There were some entries that caught exactly the thought I have of the sentimental charm of those ancient ideas of she who waits for her lover to return from the sea. It was hard for me to make the cut on this, with so many great ideas. All were sheer delights to read and thankyou for all who entered.

I sit in sands soft as your touch, listening to the winds whisper you voice across my ears. The sea rests with me waiting to return you. The skies are clouded like my thoughts, thoughts that only you would understand. Water,by Jaded 0 lines, 1 comment, on Aug 29 4:54 PM
