I am a huge fan of country music. Some of my favorite artists include Jeffrey Steele, Keith Urban, Steve Wariner, Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Keith Whitley, Chely Wright, Carrie Underwood, Kenny Chesney, Lila McCann, Bryan White, Joe Nichols, and many more. First I will tell you the rules of this contest, then I will give you the options.
Rules:
1. Keep swearing to a minimum, some is fine.
2. No crazy typing LyKe ThiS.
3. Any background/color combination is fine, just try and keep it readable.
4. I won't DQ anyone unless they are being unreasonably offensive, but if you are way off topic don't expect to win.
5. I prefer poetry that rhymes, but it's not necessary.
6. Only submit a pre-write if it fits the topic.
7. Write which option you chose in your author notes.
8. This isn't necessary to win, but include a little something in your author notes about what country music means to you and who your favorite artists are.
In this contest there will be a few options:
1. Pick your favorite country song and either re-write it as a poem or write about how it makes you feel.
2. Write your own original country lyrics.
3. Write a poem or country song inspired by any of my country lyrics. I will include the links to them on this page.
4. Any other ideas you have that relate to these topics will be considered. If you have an idea that I didn't mention that relates to country music write it in your author notes and I will decide if it fits what I am looking for, or message me before you enter if you wish.
Here are my songs that you can choose to write about if you choose option #3...

Interesting contest, I haven't come across a country lyric contest on here before now, bookmarking in hopes to create something for you.

I was searching way back on contests that have taken place over the past couple of years and got the idea from some that I found. Country music is the easiest thing for me to judge, and I finally built up enough points to host a contest, so I thought I'd give it a try. Hopefully you will come up with something to enter with!

was trying to write a new country song for you, but I have only come up with two lines, I will work on it and send you the link on completion. For now though I'll enter a pre-write based on a song by The Wilkinsons.
