Cupcrazy:
3 minutes ago Well Bear here are my final scores:
This month’s POM certainly had its share of diversity,
everything from fire to cats, to deep emotion to whimsical journeys.
It certainly presented the judges with a lot to judge and discern in order
to come up with the entries that presented the most imagery, focus, impact and emotion.
I have thoroughly enjoyed judging this contest although my brain is a little weary and my
fingers cramped? I would like to thank all the contestants for their sense of camaraderie,
the hard work they put into composing their entries and the grace that they exhibited in
accepting the judges opinions on their prized works. Hope to see you all
again in the next series of PO contests.
Hugs to all
Bunny

37 minutes ago Hi Bear...
Final Notes:
WOW! This was an amazing POM to help judge, and quite a challenge as well.
I've had a bad cold all weekend, so have been trying to make comments in between shots
of NyQuil and fits of coughing. This would have to be the time Bear decided to
allow 30 entries into the contest, more than I ever remember having before! Talk about
timing! lol. But seriously, my sincere apologies to the last 10 or so poets, as I realize
my comments became shorter and shorter as I went along. I honestly don't have the energy
at this point to finish typing out each of your entire scoreboards, but if you'll be patient
with me I'll post them on your pages over the next couple of days.
I have a feeling we are going to have some of the closest scores ever in deciding
who gets those top 6 spots this month, and I really look forward to seeing who will
be walking away with the gold. Every time I thought I had a favorite poem picked out,
another one, just as good, would come along. As I've already told one of our younger poets..
.there are going to be a LOT of great poems that won't get so much as an HM. Just proof, to me,
of what a great job you've all done. : ) Also a reminder about how important those rules are...sadly,
I had a lot of deductions in that area...and I hate seeing a poet miss a trophy over a technicality
like forgetting to put their theme in the AN. On a happier note though, I gave out 4 perfect 10's in
imagery scoring, and that's a record for me.
Thanks so much to each of you for joining us, and I hope many of you will become familiar faces around
the PO contests if you aren't already.
Congrats to our winners!
Wishing you all a blessed and beautiful week,
~Julie

omg my freaking brother is drumming horribly in the basement and is completely frustrating my concentration. I will bookmark this and try again later when perhaps the house has quieted...

Wow... Ummmm (doesn't know what to do!)

don't think, write! thinking only complicates the task!
-
-
i never think when i write its too distracting

Well, after listening to the "Wicked" soundtrack on loop for the last 48 hours, there is no way I'm going to write anything that isn't cliche'

Good luck, poets.
And good luck, judges... I don't envy you
(I'm glad I retired from this job at 17
)
-Zach
Edit from approx. five minutes later: I put on Rascal Flatts's "Elsworth" and came up with something that's not cliche', actually pretty good, but the theme is too common

write as your muse leads...it's in you, let it out! whether or not it's common, no matter ~ it's yours. go for it!

Here is a FAQ ..>>>
Kappa:
3 hours ago In the rules, you say keep in poetic form, then you say no poetic forms allowed? I'm confused, could you clarify! For the contest.
I think it means no form poetry such as haiku, quatrain.
but, to still have a form that is readable.
did I understand it correctly? or mix it up?

1 hour ago Hello
No Forms of any kind....Sestinas....Villanelles...Rictameters....etc........and Poetic Form means.......Use your Beautiful Poetic Voice.....stay away from Prose, Cliche' and Epic Tone ~
I hope that helps,
God bless you and good luck!

Judges!!!
Happy Sunday Poets!
Just a Note to all of you..>>>
Time is scarce right now with my moveing...etc.. ~
Therefore, my own reviews and critiques shall be brief, as I need every second of each weekend to get packed and get organized for this move.....I wish you all the best....and from what I have seen, there are some INCREDIBLE entries this Month......please be patient as your other Judges work their way across your page....there are almost 30 entries....biggest POM ever, so we shall do our best..and after 85 PO' Contests, I have not missed one yet, and don't plan on missing one.....and if it takes one more day to complete the contest, we ( I ), ask for your forgivness in the delay...
...may the best Poem win!
God bless all of you!
Bear ~

i hope your move is goin smooth
an soon youll get back in your groove

Thank you guys so much for your constructive criticism, but I honestly want to apologize too because the entry I sent in is definitely not one of my best writes.
I understand how it's not unique, and my lack of better words; my poems are usually more cleaver.
But, and I'm not trying to make excuses, I only had five minutes to write this poem because my brother was kicking me off the computer, so I had no time whatsoever to really think about the poem.
I know I won't win, and I can't submit another poem for this contest, but I'll definitely enter next month with a much better poem that'll probably be up to all of your standards more than this one was.
Thank you so much!

Gosh...thank you so much for your comment.....that means so very much to me, and I am positive, to your other Judges as well..
..God bless you!

You know...out of all the PO contests I've judged (and there have been quite a few!) there hasn't been an entry yet that I didn't enjoy on at least some level.
In the end it has very little to do with how the numbers turn out or how "unique" each entry is, what I love most is seeing a poet who becomes motivated to reach for that gold trophy...even if it takes trying a time or several.
I'll look forward to seeing your next entry!

Judges!!
I will take your scores ASAP!
We are one day late.....but I know how hard this POM was to devote so much of your time to 30 entries....whew!
However, when you have scores, and final notes if you desire, send them on!
God bless you!

Awesome! I would certainly be interested in that
Also if you needed sponsoring, I would like to offer, feel free to IM me any time. A couple of people have mentioned it, the most recent being Aboomer, can't remember who else said something about it now. Thanks again to you and all the judges for the great comments

To Bear and all the other hosts of this contest:
I thank you so much for your generosity in points and your will to host such a tough contest! ^_^ Although I did not win anything, I am honoured to have been apart of this- and to have at least ranked among the top ten out of so many gifted and truly talented poets. I can't wait for the next one of these contests to come out, for I will be entering ^_^ As much as the winners of this contest- who have penned true works of art- deserve an applause, you all do as well. Judging such an intense contest and taking your time to thoroughly critique a total of 30 writes must be very challenging. So here you go:

Once again, I thank you. Can't wait for the next contest.
Peace

Many thanks to the judges for your thoughts and outstanding crits! I am honored to receive an HM with such a close poetry battle and amazing talent ... no doubts this was a hard one to judge let alone the amount of entries to focus on.
Congrats to the winners! -

Thank you Solo.....see you soon!
