Within all of creation, the only naturally perfect geometric shape is a circle, and taken further, a sphere. To us, the sun and the moon appear as circles. Most flowers have circular heads. Any burrow dug by any animal has a circular entrance.
Write me a poem, whatever style you prefer, about a circle and what that form means to you. It can be the circle of life, running around in circles, circling the wagons, whatever. HOWEVER, I don't want simplistic little ditties with little thought given to what the form means within your chosen context. I want thoughtful entries and poems that reflect that thought.
Write me something deserving of the large number of points I'm going to award.
Pre-writes are allowed, but please don't enter something that has already won a trophy of any kind. The only rules are no funny tYpINg, no erotica and no vulgar language or cursing. Any style, rhyme or not, any length, any interpretation. Now, how's that for freedom?!
I look forward to your entries!

- Rewards: Gold: 800, Silver: 500, Bronze: 200, Honorable mention: 4 people
- Final notes: I'm so pleased with the entries for this contest on circles. I liked so many of them that I increased the number of HM's. If I could, I'd give a special trophy for Darell for his Circle of Fools that he wrote just for me (wait a minute - was that an insult?!)
Thank you to all the entrants. I really enjoyed reading your poems.

Just for you CelticQueen
Circle of Fools!
Life evolves round
spheres of truth,
though distant hearts
remain aloof.
Creatures of every race,
idle away in a circle
of grace.
They await enlightenment
in depths of bliss,
forsaking reality in
a beguiling mist.
Around and around
and around they go,
caught in a cycle
where there's no flow.
Seeking what can never
be found, in an evolving world
that has them bound.
