My Muse is, once again, off on vacation. (You'd think she'd at least send a Haiku postcard now and then!)
Where do our Muses go? Write me a poetic ad for a Muse resort, or present the kind of setting you imagine their creative selves would take their sweet time coming home from. Or, what one might do to hurry them back! Or anything along those lines.
G-rated
up to 12 lines (some flexibility)
Creativity or actual thought preferred.
I enjoy humor, metaphor, meter and imagery.
Rhyme or free verse.
Any form welcome, if you post its requirements in your Author Notes.
I don't have the option to IM you privately (anonymous contest), so if you don't want to see little reminders about spelling/typos in your comments, do your own spell-checking
I will comment on each write, and invite you to comment on one or two other writes.
With thanks to Maldronah for points contributed:
Gold 350
Silver 250
Bronze 150
I am looking forward to enjoying your creative thoughts!
most appreciatively,
Mirthryl

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on September 7, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 2 people
- Final notes: This was a lot of fun for me, though the judging is always the hardest part!
I felt "Here and There" gave a most engaging look at a Muse's holiday (that I would drool to share!) and the sorry state of the Muse-less stay-at-home! I loved "The Lighthouse" which highlighted the power to do good that comes with writing. "Muse Holiday" sounded like a very practical Muse's explanation of the FACT that she is going, given in logical terms, probably spoken over her shoulder as she packs!
Thank you all for your creative entries, we had everything from word-and-Muse evacuation to alternate dimensions to Cruises, gardens, Olympian visitations and singles bars. I feel you have all helped shed light on why mine periodically goes missing!
Many thanks!
Mirthryl

Dear M
I once went out searching for mine, hoping she'd not gotten very far, when I came across her, wouldn't you know, at the MUSEum of Natural History! Claimed she'd been looking for ME!!!
Silly muses! -

I suppose mine would be comparing creaking knees with the dinosaurs!

That would account for the days I'm left eating dust when I'd hoped for a lift! Brightly and succinctly put, Adios Muchachos!
