Alright boys and girls....
****UPDATE****
Okay, as of reading some of your entries, I have to say it is not quite what I was looking for...I said emotion, but not necessarily SADNESS. Also, I'm looking for poems that use IMAGERY and DESCRIPTIONS. I don't just want emotions, but I want ANALOGIES to describe the feeling. Please be more aware of this in the future!! Thank you!
I have been having a tough time, and I hope it will get better soon. I recently broke up with my boyfriend of a year and a half, had to move my stuff across town, had my car break down, found out he was cheating on me and already moved the other slut in, and since I live in Jacksonville, Fl, we're also in the middle of a hurricane.
Sound like fun? Seriously, don't answer that.
Anyway, I'm not in a 'pity' mood...I can do that by myself. What I am looking for are basically poems that express emotions, but I want it done subtly. (What a weird word!) I really love poems that paint scenes for me, and I really love it when you use descriptions and imagery, but it can't be overly wordy.
I want FEELING. Not just, "My heart is so empty now, after what he did to me," yadayada etc. I HATE friggin emo poetry, and I HATE wristcutting poetry. If you submit either, you will be DQ'd.
If you have any questions, then please, feel free to message me. DO NOT leave me a comment on the bottom of this page if you need a response. I do not always check those comments.
Other than that, minimal to no unnecessary cursing. I.e.-you can use the word 'fuck' to convey sex, but do not use it to simply curse. I will deem this unnecessary, and you will be DQ'd.
Use spell check, proper grammar and all that jazz. If your poetry is overly ripe with spelling errors, I will assume that a chimpanzee did the editing on it, and you will be DQ'd. I don't read chimp poetry.
No suicide poetry. If you are conveying the pain that lead up to a decision like that, or even expressing the loss of someone who has done that, then that is acceptable. If you are talking about killing yourself, I don't want to hear it. It's not that I don't care, but if you're trying to get attention from all the 'pain' you are going through, then talk to a counselor. I don't get paid to tell you how sorry I am your life sucks. Everyone has issues. I just don't want to hear yours.
Well, I guess, just get to writing.

I'm sorry to hear you're going through such a hard time. I'll be back, if I ever find my muse again... She seems to have disappeared.
If not, then best of luck, and I hope that you get the entries you're looking for.
In love and light,
Laura
