I'd love for you to celebrate with me. And to that end what I would like is a pair of poems from each of you, the best poem you have written in the last year (No that is wrong the poem I will love best!
) and a new one. I shall mark each poem separately and try to average out the score across the two poems. Clearly you'll only get one gold cup for the two poems but I'll give it to whichever of the two you prefer
I hope all of you will take this in the spirit of celebration and for a change I'm not going to beat myself up over the judging I'm going to mark on the basis of the poems I want to hold close to me until I die.
Several of you know I have a small collection of poems I carry with me everywhere, I'm looking for new ones to add to that list!
AMAZE me please
those of you who know me well know why I love your poems, the rest of you, a brief glance at my poetry may help, but really I love so many different things and I promise to enjoy reading everything that is entered, however I am very unlikely to enjoy reading about cutting or your wish to commit suicide, and I have no religion and avoid commenting on spiritual pieces for fear of offending those whose beliefs they espouse.Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on October 5, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 3010, Silver: 1010, Bronze: 600, Honorable mention: 29 people
- Final notes: WOW
I may not do that again, I have a large sheet of paper with impossible calculations on all sides. I have sworn at AP lots of times. Decided to run away and hide three times awarded too many HMs once and finally got it right.
I am not going to say why you all won what you did this contest was all about ME selfish sod that I am, so thank you all every one for entering I loved it.
Everyone who entered two poems (one prewrite and one fresh write) got at least an HM one person who cheated and put in two pre-writes without asking me also got an HM because I enjoyed both poems so much.
Thank you all again
I
Love

poetry

Well jeff, Congratulations on your year.I hope you spend many more happy ones here on AP, Ros -
*cake*
Happy AP Birthday to you! I luv your idea here! I would love to jump on it myself, but afraid I won't make the deadline. It's our podunk town's festival all week, and I have a parade at 1:00, grandkids in haul, lol, then a class reunion at 4:00, then back out here on Gilligan's Island for more babysitting adventures, it wears me out just typing it, plus was out till 2:am last eve with my hubby's band dancing the night away. Anyhoo, if I can fit just one more thing in, it will be penning a piece of birthday cake for one of the finest authors on the site! Hope to see you for many more years! Crap, now the cat has puked!!!!!! Back to work............
