Love - Who can show me what they've got??

***CLOSED FOR JUDGING****

Thanks to all for entering, this contest was over very quickly, which surprised me! I might not allow pre-writes on my next competition, but the one's i received for this one are all valid and everyone submitted some quality writes to the contest, so well done everyone!

I am currently reading through the entries and adding to finalist list, I'm aiming to give a comment to everyone and once that's done i will award the prizes, watch this space!

This is my first competition, as I thought it was about time to give some points back!

It's hard to find that much poetry about true love on here, so i'm looking for poems about your most powerful feelings in that area. It can be any kind of love, just make it inspiring, moving and genuine, above all it has to be true to yourself and your own experience; keep it real people! I haven't been able to write about this subject for a while so it would be nice to be inspired!

It can be adult but if you want to be explicit please make it original and not just boring sleaze please!

It can be positive or dark, as long as its fits the above.

Any form of poetry is fine, rhyming or free verse or anything you like!

Pre-writes are perfectly fine if they fit into the true love category as above!

You can also enter one pre-write as well as a new poem, but not two of the same.

This is an anonymous contest.

Apart from that just follow the normal courtesy's please such as no bashing other poets etc..

Good luck to all!!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on August 21, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 300, Silver: 200, Bronze: 100, Honorable mention: 4 people
  • Final notes:
Thank you again to everyone for your entries! It was quite hard to judge these and it felt a little unfair to 'compare' them on an equal footing, as there were so many different expressions of love submitted.

But I chose the winners based on which ones moved me the most and how well written and genuine they came across. The best ones were those that expressed love most personally and passionately, with the most original, emotive ideas and imagery. I was very impressed by the way many of you expressed feelings and appealed to the senses.

One or two of entries did feel a little 'distant' from the subject for me, and i think i might do only new poems on my next competition, but they all fitted the criteria none the less. So well done to everyone and thank you very much for your efforts! This was a very enjoyable competition to judge.

    Best wishes!
