This contest is for Pagans and Wiccans only.
If you are Christian, sorry but there are a number of contests being run by and for you.
I would like poetry that describes your relationship with your Gods and/or Goddesses.
What does it feel like when you commune with them?
How did you find your "home"?
What problems have you had being Wiccan?
It could be about your beliefs.
The pantheon that you're drawn to. (For example, I am Celtic Wiccan)
These are just some ideas to get your creative juices flowing for your muses.
Rules:
(Because every society must have them.)
1.) Must be longer than 5 lines, but not more than 30. (I do not want to read a novella)
2.) Spellcheck is a must , it is your friend. USE IT.
(If you're unsure how to access it, ask me and I will tell you how)
3.) Please make sure there is enough contrast between background and print, I will not highlight it to read it. Please no twinkle background either. If you include a pic with your poem, please know that it will be looked at, but will have no affect on the judging, this is done in fairness to those members who can not afford gold or silver membership. Also, if you happen to know who created it, please credit it. It's just polite. You will be IM'd and given a chance to fix the problem background.
4.) No dirty-pretty, chat speak, funky typing ect. I don't see how any of these apply but, IF YOU'RE NOT SURE: ASK.
5.) Poems must be marked "critical" to be considered. You can type Critical in the categories box to satisfy this condition. (Again if your unsure how, ASK ME!)
6.) NO erotica-it will be deleted. Let's keep this G or at least PG-13 so that all ages may be considered and read the work submitted. (I don't see how any could be applied here but...just to make sure, here is the rule.)
7.) No bashing ANYONE'S religion--cause for instantaneous deletion and banning from any further of my contests. (We all know that some people hate some religions, I don't want to read it and will not put up with it. Besides, this is not the contest for it.)
8.) I will make notes as the contest goes along and poems are entered. I will make no comments until after the contest is closed.
9.) I prefer free-verse. I do not feel competent to judge other forms. You may enter them, but I will not comment on the form, just content and what I think.
10.) If you feel the need to reserve a spot, please return to finish it. I will be slightly annoyed with an entry whose only content is the word 'reserved' and you will be ejected from this contest. I am assuming that if you go to the trouble to reserve a spot, you are intending to finish it. Please don't destroy my illusion.
Please, let's have some fun!!
These are my opinions and only that. My decisions are final.
Now the fun stuff:
1st place- a shiny electroplated gold trophy and 375 pts.
2nd place- a slightly less shiny silver electroplated trophy and 300 pts.
3rd place- a rather mundane bronze, but just as impressive trophy and 200 pts.
Honorable Mentions: 2 worth 30 pts. and a verdigris covered bronze trophy. (They were left out in the rain by my daughter, who was entrusted to care for them.)
Please read each others work and comment if you desire, it's good karma and nice manners. (I really can't enforce this, nor will I, but let's be nice.)
Thank you and please consider entering!
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
NOTE: I reserve the right to close this early, if I deem it necessary. (i.e. not enough poems entered.)

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on September 9, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 400, Silver: 325, Bronze: 225, Honorable mention: 1 people
- Final notes: Merry meet Contestants,
Thank you all for your patience with my judging of this contest. I am usually a lot faster in my judging, but we had an illness (cureded now) and I did something quite coordinated and damaged my knee.
In regards to this contest. If some of the contestents had followed the directions and rule #5, it would have been a lot closer than it was.
The Gold goes to "The Calling" by Painting Poet. This poem answered all the questions that I had asked in the contest. It flows smoothly and is, in my humble opinion, a wonderful poem.
The Silver goes to "Lost but not Forgotten" by SweetXDestiny.
The Bronze goes to "Home is Where the Heart Is" by MissSami.
Because rule 5 was not followed, there are no Honorable Mentions.
Thank you to all who entered my contest.

P.S.
Due to a mess up of mine;
Stability by Dragonsblood ink receives an Honorable Mention. I apologize to Dragonsblood ink for this mess up and thank Kirbysman for his assistance in correcting my goof up.
Again, thank you to all who entered my contest and put up with my slow judging and mess up.

Merry meet Hetha,
I hope to read your work in the contest. Just be sure to follow rules 2 and 5. They are the important ones. You still have some time to enter, so kick your muse into high gear.

Thank you
for hosting a wonderfully inspiring contest. Congratulations to the winners. As to no one following rule #5, I did. Neither here nor there, my Muse followed its heart and penned what it was supposed to. Again thank you for the board of inspiration. -
