The Constant Gardner~A Dedication to Wounded Lovers

Theme is a tribute to Love...and the healing of its wounds.
Lately, I've discovered a need for reminders...
why do we sacrifice, rearrange and bleed for those we love?
Below, find quotes based around this theme that call to me.

Choose a quote and write in any form/length
but be sure it pertains to the theme!

And for added pleasure, stop by and read
one of the many excellent writes by runewalker~

~~"Love is a sweet tyranny, because the lover endureth his torments willingly." ~Proverb

draw blood in its defense." ~Mark Overby

~~"Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear,
too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice,
but for those who love, time is eternity." ~Henry Van Dyke

we have no say in the matter."~Mignon McLaughlin

twenty to thirty lines is a good measure.

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on August 26, 2008
  • Rewards: Gold: 413, Silver: 269, Bronze: 126
  • Final notes:
Outstanding!!! I am wondrously overwhelmed, still filled with the beauty and meaning
of the words each of you responded with.
So much so, that I felt it necessary to
award dual recognition of the top three!
So, if you placed as a finalist, know it
was a fantastic feat deserving of a
complimenting recogniton. Obviously, I recommend reading those chosen, but I
especially would like to draw attention to
"The Gardens of Eden" which was written by
a sixteen year old with brevity and true
feeling. Truly, I appreciate all of the muses entered and
hope to have a chance to honor them again
    in a future theme. Blue
