That being said, this contest is for our complied list of favorites and others that have touched (or sometimes slapped) us with their muses and we would love for each and everyone of you to enter something that will yet again, make us remember why you are the best of the best and why we love to read you.
To the winner, we request that you use some of the points (could be 1 pt or all, doesn't matter) to open your own Favorites Patron PIF contest, so that you can in turn be a patron to the poets that make you strive to be more than what you are and who inspire, encourage and give you the brilliance and beauty that you have ALL have graced us with. This is a contest of homage, of friendship, and above all else, poetry...something that you each understand and do exquisitely with much passion and talent.
We wish this to be as anonymous as possible, nothing but the talent displayed in this contest should influence us to pick the winners, so when we do comment, please do not rate or respond to our comments during the contest. It's tough, for not only the contestants but for the judges as well as we are very familiar with your voices, but it's the only way we can be as fair as possible.

Most of you have been with us from the beginning, our friends as well as teachers and supporters. We do this contest because we wish to thank you for all the years you've been there for us and also to celebrate the many years to come where we will continue to walk this road of words. We can only hope that no matter what happens, in this contest, or in any other one we will either host or play together in, we hold nothing but the highest respect and regards for your talent and your kindness to us.
Once more we thank you...the least of which is allowing us to enjoy your masterpieces.
Love,
Rob & Darcy
P,S,
I don't think I'm illustrious at all. Darcy's just kind. You are all people I have much to learn from, and I know this will be great reading... rob

Contest is Over
- Contest was judged on December 4, 2008
- Rewards: Gold: 5000, Silver: 3000, Bronze: 2000
- Final notes: First off, we wish to thank everyone for their enormous patience in the judging of this contest. My co-host and I just wanted to give everyone on the list the most amount of time to enter their masterpiece, and although the final count was not a large quantity, it was definitely a wealth of pure quality.
After much debate and agony over the winners (as we both believed it was completely in the realm of the plausible that EVERYONE deserved a trophy), our winners are:
- on the fringe of absolute finality
- i've seen enough
- Disguises
All the entries were marvelously penned and exquisitely expressed, but these three really touched us and spoke to us on our own personal levels. But trust us when we say that you will not be disappointed should you click on any of the poems presented here.
The winner will be required to host a PIF contest with the pts won, however little or large the booty. We are just hoping that these pts will go to honor the favorites of the poet hosting the contest. It is after all, why we are all here. To enjoy and be enjoyed.
Again, thank you for your patience and excellent efforts. And I want to add a personal thanks to Rob for co-hosting...he truly is an amazing poet and friend and I could not have been happier or luckier in the choice of fellow judge.
Once more, thank you, dearest friends.
Blessed Be
Rob & Darcy

Ah, I am sorely disappointed not to be included on this list, especially since I have "patronised" Rob, back in the day by including him in my HOT HOT HOT Anthology of coffee poems but I guess that's just the way the cup crumbles...
By the way, AJ Morelli, Carol Desjarlais, Cvillelisa, jantastic, poetryality and Nicole Hanna are all in it, too. Can I pick 'em or what?
-
-
Yes you can!
You were on my faves, I just know you were. I have to pick up that book again; didn't remember so many of my heroes were in there.
I don't want to start an avalanche of those who somehow slipped off the list, so yer it; REALLY, but I'm gonna try to slip you up there.

I should write something for this, but my brain's been a little dry for a bit. That, and I've never been a big fan of PIF contests.
I might enter something short and sweet, though.
-
That's a big ass intimidating list ya got there. I don't know how I missed this. What an honor.
You're so sweet.
-

I believe the world might have come to an end. Not only is this contest finally judged (I'm not one of the patient ones mentioned in the final notes), I actually got the gold! Weeeeee! I feel like havin' a party... or something. I guess my own PIF contest will have to do
Thanks, and it was a joy to read all the entries.
