Contest PIF...........

I won gold in JinSays contest so here I am to PIF it....

This time I am just going to nudge you in a direction in and let you go for it...

Most of you know that my daughter was born with a rare birth defect known as PFFD.... She is strong and determined and to me absolutely beautiful!!!

She is my inspiration to be a more understanding and generous person but yet she is the one that suffers of the stigma of "reject" by society..

You know.....the less than perfect!!!

So your prompt today is: Society's Reject

Write what it means to you......As her mother I know the ramification's of this title but I want to know how others view it.

As always point will increase as entries do

Reserve is fine if you come back to finish before closing

(picture is of my daughter) Now you tell me she is anything less than perfect....

YOUR POEM DOES NOT NEED TO BE ABOUT HER.........JUST WHAT THE PROMPT MAKES YOU FEEL OR WHAT IT MEANS TO YOU.  I POSTED THE PICTURE TO SHOW THAT DIFFERENT CAN BE BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!

Contest is Over

  • Contest was judged on August 22, 2008

I can hardly breathe at this moment nor see my screen throug all my tears....I can not thank each of you enough for all your kind words....

Gold: I do not know how you did it but you captured the essence of her and I so wonderfully that I sobbed thru and thru..

The rest of you touched my soul so very deep and left my bereft of words to express my gratitude for these heartfelt words...

    God Bless you all.....

    HM's are in no order

Thank you so much......It is wonderful to know that their are people out there that still see her as a child and not as a freak of nature. I know it is hard to tell in the pictures....She is so beautiful and I have been told that she has a stunning "aura"

That child is gorgeous, plain and simple. I don't see anything wrong with her...because there isn't. She's a beautiful, precious little girl, and you deserve to be damn proud.

Good luck with the contest. I'm sure you'll get wonderful entries.

your daughter is not only beautiful, she is PERFECT and absolutely stunning ...
I am not clairvoyant, but maybe a bit clairsentient, and I'm having shivers and goosebumps all over since I clicked on this link ...
    what is her name ?
let's see, when I look at her, I get something like "sheelaa" ... (when I look it up, it means "gentle" in hindi, although it signifies "blind" in other traditions ... )
now, I get, that she is one who knows how to see with other eyes than the physical ones ... (third eye vision, clairvoyance ?) she sees the essential hidden behind the mask of appearance ... also, that she has come to teach us (all those who meet her), compassion, tolerance, kindness ... she has accepted the sacrifice of appearing different in body, so that others learn that we are not a body, but spirit having an earthly experience ...

I hope you don't mind me sharing my inspirations, I don't know if it makes sense to you, but I truly mean it when I say that your daughter is an angel ...

    much love,
    maa

Now it is my turn to shiver and get goosebumps because this is how I see her as well!!! Her spirit is so overwhelming at times that it makes you feel insignificant next to her.. Her name is actually Hayden Grace, oh my......I am so choked up her by your incredible words!!! Thank you so much!!!

    Okay now.....lol....I might be dense...but

just what exactly is supposed to be different about her???? I'm not familiar with whatever it is...I clicked on here...and thought...what a doll!! She looks so much like Shannon...(my grand daughter) she is only ten months old...and I thought...I wonder if Shannon is going to look like that??? I just sincerely hope, it's nothing that gives her pain....I too believe we are spiritual beings in human shells....Where I live...differences are just accepted....BUT....I still don't see anything wrong?? In fact...before I read your contest...I thought "she could win a cutest baby contest". I'm still confused...give her a hug just from her "Auntie Julie" in Hawai'i would you please?
    Thanks
